Porcelain Fixed Dental Bridges In Phoenix, AZ

Missing teeth are both uncomfortable and embarrassing. Are you tired of feeling like everyone is looking at your missing tooth or teeth when you smile? It might be time to consider a bridge.

Bridges are fixed restorations that are held in place using a crown attached to the adjacent tooth or teeth or dental implants. The artificial tooth that fills in the space left by your missing tooth is called a pontic, and it is carefully designed to blend in perfectly with your other teeth so that your bridge seamlessly integrates with your natural smile.

Type Of Bridges

Several types of bridges are available, but porcelain is one of the most popular options thanks to its similarity to natural tooth color and its biocompatibility. Phoenix dentist Dr. Hamann and the dental experts at Agave Dental will discuss your needs and goals with you and help you choose the best dental bridge for you.

Dental bridges are designed for durability and should last many years with proper care; however, they may eventually need to be re-cemented or replaced due to normal wear. At your regular check-ups, we’ll check the condition of your bridge – and any other restorations you might have – to make sure that it’s in excellent shape.

Why Choose A Bridge?

3D BridgeFilling in the spaces left by teeth is important for a range of reasons beyond the obvious esthetic concern. Some of these other reasons include:

  • Maintaining your facial shape
  • Preventing your remaining teeth from shifting out of position
  • Restoring your ability to chew and speak easily (in turn preventing nutritional deficiencies caused by choosing soft, processed foods because they are more comfortable to chew)
  • Upgrading from a removable partial denture to a permanent option

Is It Difficult To Get A Fixed Bridge?

Creating and fitting a fixed porcelain bridge requires two or more appointments to our Phoenix dental office. The first step is to prepare your anchoring teeth for the bridge by shaping them so that the crown will fit securely. Next, we take an impression of your teeth to create a mold to send to the laboratory that will be crafting your restoration. We’ll place a temporary bridge until your permanent bridge is complete.

When you return for your second visit to our Phoenix dental office, your newly created, permanent porcelain bridge will be carefully checked, measured, adjusted, and cemented to achieve a proper fit and natural appearance. Dr. Hamann may choose to temporarily cement the porcelain bridge to allow your teeth and tissue time to adjust to the new bridge; the porcelain bridge will be permanently cemented later.

Dr. Hamann and her staff will provide you with detailed porcelain bridge care instructions at the end of the appointment. The comfort and appearance of your bridge is extremely important to Agave Dental, so if you ever have a problem, please call our office immediately.
